FAST Team Graduates

On Tuesday 21st June the team of parents, community and school partners who led our FAST (Families and School Together) programme this year, met  for the dissemination of the FAST Evaluation Report issued by Middlesex University in conjunction with Save The Children.

The report was delivered by Sandra Baxter and gave a very detailed evaluation of the many positive impacts the programme had had on the lives of the participating families.

The St Clare’s Abbey programme had attained particularly well in the objectives of ‘ Enhancing Family Functioning’ and ‘Reducing the Stress that Families Express in Daily Lives.’

It also indicated areas that we may wish to develop in future programmes and it is with great delight that we can say that we are already making plans for the 2016/17 programme.

Our heartfelt appreciation is extended to the team members under the guidance of Blanaid O'Shea. These include:

Miceal Murphy, Marie Mc Shane, Aimee Johnston, Aoife Mc Ardle, Siobhan Burns, Michelle Mc Logan, Caral Quinn, Eimear Mc Shane, Maggie Rogalska, Catherine Mc Quillan, Attracta Byrne & Nuala Rafferty.

A special thank you to the parents who came in that day to speak to Sandra and presented the team with their certificates.

If anyone is interested in taking part in the next programme but is unsure as to what it involves please talk to the families who took part in 2015/2016. The sessions are not led by school staff, all the team members participate and empower parents to be the head of their family in the sessions. Children serve their parents at the family meal time, mum or dad eat first!

There are some photographs under "in the community" that may help you decide.

We are deeply grateful to the families who took part in 2015/2016 and we hope you all made new friends and left with special memories.
