School will be closed for all pupils on Wednesday 26 April 2023 for the full day.
Dear Parents,
The Police Service of Northern Ireland and Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland have sent us a warning to share with you about the importance of educating children on online safety before gifting new devices and technology gadgets for Christmas.
We would appreciate if you could read the attached letter and ensure all devices are set up securely so children are safe online.
The GL Assessment Test will be held on Saturday 12 November 2022 in Sacred Heart Grammar School, Newry. Sacred Heart School will forward the time of test at a later date.
Familiarisation sessions will take place in Sacred Heart Grammar School on:
Monday 24 October 2022
Tuesday 25 October 2022 from 4.00 pm – 5.00 pm.

School dinners must now be booked and paid for in advance of the day to allow our canteen staff to have correct numbers.
Free School Meals must also be booked. This can be done for a number of weeks in advance if you wish.
Further to my communication last week, I provide you now with details re practical arrangements for the return to school. We have been and will continue to work hard to make St Clare’s Abbey as safe as possible.
The Induction Session that your child will have in school on the week commencing 24th August will allow us to explain the many changes implemented, in preparation for full return on Tuesday 1st September (all pupils – P2 – P7)

Dear parents,
please see correspondence below and the restart leaflet issued by DE and the Minister Of Education. At this point I wish to inform you that our plans for 'Welcome Back' sessions on the week of 24th August, will proceed as planned.
Please refer to the date issued to you in June, for your child's session.
If you have queries, please ring the school office on the week commencing Monday 17th August.
Thereafter all pupils will return to school full time from 2nd September.
Next week ,you will receive further communication from me outlining practical measures to be followed to facilitate safe, full time return.

You will be aware that PSNI have been monitoring the parking situation on Courtenay Hill and that the information leaflets below relating to this have been distributed.
Unfortunately, the problem persists.
As such, I have been informed that from this point onwards, parking fines will be issued.
IMPORTANT: If there is someone, especially one of your child’s parents, who is not allowed to collect your child due to a court order please contact Mrs Toner, Mr Sweeney (our ‘Designated Child Protection’ teachers) or Mrs Monaghan immediately.
Please be aware that children’s attendance is not monitored by the school but by Education Authority’s Welfare Officer (EWO) on a monthly basis.
Parents are expected to inform school about planned holidays during the school terms, however, please be aware that ALL HOLIDAYS taken during term time are considered UNAUTHORISED by the Attendance Officer.
