Arrangements for the Distribution of Holy Communion In the Cathedral.

Recently we have introduced the following arrangements in the Cathedral to facilitate the smooth distribution of Holy Communion at all Masses. It would be greatly appreciated if everyone followed this guidance.

• People in the transepts should approach the altar in the usual way.

• People in each side aisle should approach the altar in a single line keeping along the wall of the Cathedral and return along the seats.

• People in the middle aisle should approach the altar in a single line on the left hand side and return to their seats in a single line on the opposite side. When you reach the top of the middle aisle please spread along both sides of the Altar to receive Holy Communion. This system will allow you to receive Holy Communion in an orderly and reverential way and will reduce the current delay at the top of the middle aisle.
