Art Opportunity with the BBC
We are writing to tell you about our digital art wall - The Wonder Gallery, an online art exhibition space to inspire creativity in young people aged between 4 and 18.
We think it would make a good classroom exercise or homework activity for your students.
Each month, a well known artist will set a new theme for the Gallery accompanied by a video with tips on how to create a great piece of art. We are inviting budding artists to submit a picture of their artwork – it can be on paper with crayon, on canvas with paint, or digitally on a tablet or computer – whatever is on hand at home or at school.
Our latest contribution comes from Chris Riddell – multi award-winning illustrator, in line with the publication of a brand new edition of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, he has chosen the theme ‘Wonderland in sketch books’, and you can see him talking about his choice here.
More details on how parents/ teachers can send completed artwork can be found on the website and, once received, we will publish the artwork on the BBC Wonder Gallery website.
If you’re a primary, art or head teacher, we’d love you to circulate the details of the website with your pupils and their parents over the coming weeks.
We look forward to filling the gallery with their wonderful art!
Many thanks,
The Wonder Gallery Team
