On Friday 12th May in Newry Cathedral, our P7 pupils received the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of Confirmation. Arch Bishop, Eamon Martin conferred the sacrament and he did so by making it 'all about the children.' Throughout, he spoke directly to the boys and girls, explaining how the Holy Spirit will help them to "set the world alight". He gave all the boys and girls great words of wisdom and encouragement for the next chapter of their lives, in September. They all know that they have been given a big job of making a difference in the world. Since they now possess the gifts of the Holy Spirit, they have all that is needed to make their contribution to our world, a good one.
We had a truly joyful evening and the liturgy was wonderful, enhanced by the wholehearted participation of our very mature P7s and the delightful music provided by our talented choir.
