ECO Visit to the Wellness Cafe

This week, the Eco Council went on a visit to Lisa’s Wellness Café to learn more about healthy living and recycling.

We really enjoyed ourselves. We learned so much about the different ways a business recycles. Some of us thought recycling only happened in school and at home. Our visit really helped us to see how important recycling is for everyone, particularly for businesses! Lisa showed us all the ways she recycles in her café. She uses 100% recyclable napkins, pieces of cardboard to make price tags, coffee bags to cover her sofa and the fruit and vegetable pulp from her juicer to make crackers and soup stock. Lisa also spoke to us about the importance of getting our ‘5 a day’. We made tasty orange and apple juice using Lisa’s juicer. We loved the fresh taste of it! We then had a chat about different fruits and vegetables, some of which we had never seen before, such as fennel and avocado.
