P1 Celebrate The European Day of Languages.
As part of our work for European Languages Day on 26th September 2015, the Primary 1 children were learning a little bit of French!
We read the interactive story about Barnaby Bear in Paris and discussed how to get to France and what we might see there.
We learned how to say hello, goodbye, please and thank you in French.
The children looked at where France is on the map in relation to Ireland. At snack time we tasted croissants with butter, jam, cheese or ham! They were yummy and we all tried them!
At Primary Movement time we were learning the new movements to the song Frere Jacques and we were very good at it!
We created our own French flag. We had to make sure we had the right colours in the right places.
Some of the children hope to visit France at some time in the future!
