February has been the busiest month. We had some very important visitors in our school and we were delighted to showcase all of the wonderful things and the hard work we do in P1/2. We also had a lovely week off for midterm which the children really deserved. Our visitors loved lots of things about our class but they commented specifically on how engaged we were during our Play Based Learning experiences. We really enjoyed the opportunity to show them all that we are learning to do in Play and in all other areas of the Curriculum too.
We continue to work on our sounds, our high frequency words, segmenting and blending, our emergent writing and our reading in Literacy.
In Numeracy we have been sorting into sets and subsets. We are also getting really good at adding using sets, 10 frames and Numicon too! We are learning the o’clock time. We are working on numbers before and after in our Mental Maths and ordering numbers too.
Our Play Based Learning time this month was spent between the Forest and the Creative Classroom. We also enjoyed talking about our emotions during our Nurturing Minds lessons. We started a block of gymnastics and we are loving it so far!
This month we celebrated Red Day and Safer Internet Day.
