The Primary 5s have been participating in a STEM project called the Jaguar Primary School STEM Challenge. The challenge covers so many areas of the curriculum including numeracy and literacy. Miss McGrath is very impressed with everyone.
To date the pupils have created teams, decided on team roles and responsibilities, designed a car, decided on a team & car name as well as using ICT skills and high tech technological devices to create the fastest car.
The pupils used reaction skills whilst participating in experiments to see who will be the driver. They also had to collate and display the data using their mathematical skills to figure out average and total times.
As well as exploring the curriculum they have developed other skills such as teambuilding, listening and respecting other's opinion's, speaking and listening skills as well as time management.
