As we begin P2, the children have had lots of opportunities to explore our Outdoor Play Areas. They have already begun to develop many new skills through this play.
In the Outdoor Construction and Meadow areas, the children develop upper body strength by pulling, climbing and lifting. Children have been using loose parts to help them create cars, castles, slides and restaurants in the Construction Area.
In the Forest the children have been investigating using magnifying glasses and have been collecting items to look at more closely. The children have noticed the many changes that Autumn brings and have enjoyed making observations about this.
In our Creative Classroom, we have done some observational drawing and have worked at joining and connecting various junk materials to make new projects.
In the Water and Sand Areas, we have been investigating different containers. We have also made lots of mud creations in the Mud Lab and have worked hard at cleaning up this area after our play. We have been developing our independence by learning to put our wetsuits and wellies on independently and hanging these up at the end of play.
