Letter of welcome to Pope Francis

Dear Parents,

As I am sure you are aware, Ireland is hosting the World Meeting of Families next year. This will include a visit to Ireland from Pope Francis. In the run up to this important visit, our school is taking part in a competition run by The Irish Catholic Newspaper. We feel that it would be a lovely home school project for you to work on this week with your child.

Details of the project are as follows. The children are asked to write a letter of welcome to Pope Francis, accompanied by a drawing, to be in with a chance to win one of these fantastic prizes for their school.

1^st prize 1000 Euro

2^nd prize 500 Euro

3^rd prize 250 Euro

The competition is open to children aged 6-9 years old. Please write your letter on a piece of paper and include your child’s name, age, class, school name and contact details on it.

The letter and drawing should be returned to your child’s teacher no later than Monday 20^th November.
