March has been another busy month in Primary 1/2. The children have continued their sound journey and have been working hard to build words and also sentences using their knowledge of sounds. We have been listening to familiar tales like Jack and the Beanstalk as well as exploring new titles through our guided reading sessions. We enjoyed a wonderful celebration of reading on World Book Day. We took part in the big read with the P7 children and participated in lots of other fun activities.
In Numeracy we have been working on teen numbers and exploring the non-number concepts of pattern, time and weight.
Our Play Based Learning journey continued this month with exciting experiences in The Forest, The Mud Kitchen, The Creative Classroom and The Quarry.
We celebrated lots of things this month in school - We had a wonderful St Patrick’s Day celebration, a fabulous World Book Day and we prepared lots of thoughtful gifts for our Mothers and all the amazing ladies who care for us. We also learned about the Holy Season of Lent and are beginning to prepare for Easter.
