March madness, it has been another busy month with World Book Day, Pancake Tuesday the beginning of Lent, St Patrick’s Day, Mother’s Day and World Down Syndrome Day all being celebrated this month.
In Numeracy we have been looking at different methods to help us understand addition, matching and making sets of numbers pushing beyond ten to now introduce teen numbers. We have been pattern making and exploring weight in our non-number concepts.
We have been looking at more stories and familiar tales with our weekly sounds. Such as Jack and the beanstalk for the letter J, and the stories of Kipper for the letter K.
On World Book Day we took part in a big read with the Primary Four boys and girls who joined us in our classroom to share and read stories. We really enjoyed this.
During our play based learning this month we have been exploring in the sand, quarry and indoor construction areas.
