Miss Duffy's class experience "bus transport"
Our trip with Translink.
Today was a very exciting morning for us. We went on a huge double decker around Newry. We are learning about Transport in September and October so this trip was very important as it a fun way to learn.
This bus can hold up to 75 people on one journey. Eddie was our bus driver and Gerry was the Bus Inspector.
We went to visit the bus Depot. There we saw were the mechanics’ work. We saw Amy’s dad who works as a bus painter. He was able to give Amy a big hug.
We went through the bus wash. It was exciting. Did you know that the water is recycled through a filter because Translink believe in being environmentally friendly. They get their tyres recut as well because the bus tyres are very, very thick.
We went to see the bus station, then we drove back to school. We even got to sit in the driver’s seat. It was so cool! We were given presents of pencils and rulers as a memento of our trip.
