Miss Mallon's Class January News
In January the boys and girls in Primary Two took a closer look at their local area, in particular buildings. We had lots of chat about the geography of our area. Some of the children remembered the various landmarks having been there with their families. It was a great foundation for our new investigative play project!
In literacy the children are becoming much more independent in their writing which is very important at this stage in P2. We have enjoyed exploring the features of a Non-Fiction texts and researching dinosaurs. In Numeracy we are learning how to subtract and add using number lines and other strategies.
We continue to enjoy visits from Mrs Murphy and Baby Shea for our Roots of Empathy programme. It is wonderful to see the progress Baby Shea makes each month, and we are really enjoying exploring our own empathy skills.
