Miss Mallon's class March News
This month has been a great one in Primary Two. We have been doing some recount writing about our trip to Waterstones on World Book Day. We have been learning about stories set in a Fantasy World. It was lots of fun to see how Alice fell through a magic rabbit hole to enter Wonderland, we all had great chats about travelling to a fantasy world using a magical object. We used our imaginations to picture a fantasy world set in an enchanted forest. We listened to some mystical music to give us ideas.
In Numeracy we were revising how to "make sums" using teen numbers. The boys and girls are super at knowing how teen numbers are made of a group of ten and some extra ones.
Our World Around Us topic and our play topic is all about inventors. It has been very exciting planning our own ideas and inventions. We learned about Alexander Bell who invented the telephone, and we were all in agreement that without a phone it would be very difficult to talk to our best friends and families who live far away!
