Miss Mallon's class November
The boys and girls in Miss Mallon’s class were learning lots of new things during the month of November.
In our Grow in Love programme the children were recognising that November is a special month during which we remember our loved ones who have died. We sang the remember song and placed names of our loved ones in the Rembrance prayer space in the front foyer.
Our literacy work has been exploring different genres of writing. We were writing instructions and refining our own ability to follow instructions. The children wrote fantastic instructions for painting and lots o great discussion was had with regards to important details we must include when writing instructions.
For our Learning through Play the children have been exploring stability and how things are made. We went on an exploratory walk to the town hall to observe and research bridges in our locality. The children have been hypothesising, building, experimenting and working with others in their learning. During the rainy days the children ventured out to explore puddles and rain fall. They had a great time reflecting these experiences in their art work and writing.
Finally, in our Numeracy work the children are working really hard exploring addition and subtraction. Super thinking was taking place as the children worked to prove how they figured out various answers.
Have a look through some of the photographs of our learning during the month of November.
