Miss Mallon's class October news
October was a great month in Primary Two, full of lots of exciting learning.
Learning through Play has kicked off in full force with the boys and girls across all P2 classes joining together to develop in this area. The weather has been so so great for outdoor learning; there has been lots of opportunities to create obstacle courses, climb trees, make pretend campsites and get stuck into mixing sand and water.
In Numeracy the children have been working with data handling. They can recognise, add to and interpret a pictograph. We had great fun discovering just how popular the Autumnal animals are in our class. We have become really secure in our understanding of teen numbers and love singing our song Numbers in the teens have a group of TEN!
Literacy has been exciting this month, following lots of research and exploration of nonfiction texts we decided to write a nonfiction book about our school forest. The children came up with the contents page, designed the front cover and worked with a partner to write interesting facts for each page. A super group of boys and girls!
