How we planted our lettuce seeds.
First we put compost in our paper pots. Next we put the seeds in and placed a tiny bit of compost on top. We put cling film over the pots, it will keep them warm and moist. The seeds need heat and light to germinate, so Miss Savage placed our pots on the window cill beside her desk.
After two weeks a few of the seeds had germinated and we could see little green shoots.
Miss Savage explained that the other seeds needed more light to germinate so we moved the pots around and gave the shoots a little water.
