Mrs Davey and Mrs Trotter January news

Our new topic is dinosaurs. In literacy we have chosen fiction and non fiction books related to dinosaurs. We know that non fiction books give us useful information and we have discovered new facts about dinosaurs from these books. We looked at the contents page and then found the page number for what we wanted to find out.  We have recorded new information in our literacy books.

Mrs Davey took us for a walk in our school forest. We discovered an egg. It was gold and shinny and covered in leaves. We think that it was a dinosaur egg. We will hopefully go back and check on it soon. We had lots of fun guessing what was inside the egg. We used the puppet pal app in literacy again to complete a story about the Gingerbread Man. We are using this app on our own now during play.

We loved doing our experiment for World Around Us. We had to see how many cubes it took to sink a ship. Everyone had a guess and then we counted how many blocks it took. In numeracy we have been subtracting. We pretended to be tooth fairies taking away some teeth. We wrote number sentences, used cubes and number lines.
