Mrs Doherty/Mrs McKeown's P5 - Making Papyprus Paper
9th Nov 2017
Egyptians
Such a busy week of fun filled World Around Us lessons. This week we had the opportunity to make Papyrus paper. We discovered that Papyrus is a material similar to thick paper that was used in ancient times as writing surface. It was made from pith of the papyrus plant.
We used thin strips of brown paper and glue. Strips were glued horizontally, then vertically. This paper was left to dry over night. Finally, after studying hieroglyphic writing, we each wrote our name.
