On October 1st we continued our work on the ‘a’ sound and used Just 2 Easy to consolidate our learning.
We celebrated the feast of the Guardian Angels on Tuesday 2nd October and on the feast of St Francis, Friday 4th we went to assembly for the first time.
The children were introduced to the outdoor construction area, the sand area, the quarry and the mud kitchen. We also enjoyed Autumn in the forest where we created beautiful autumnal art work.
Other sounds in October were ‘t’ and ‘p’. Our story for ‘t’ was, The Tiger who came to Tea. We had a ‘Tea Party’ for our Friday morning snack. The following Friday we had porridge as part of our snack because our story for ‘p’ was Goldilocks and The Three Bears. Everyone helped to make the porridge and then we chose our toppings. Honey and strawberries were very popular, followed by blueberries and banana.
In numeracy we worked on numbers 1,2 & 3 and paid great attention to the formation of these. We have made number sets and counted forwards and backwards from numbers within 10. We can find missing numbers.
The last week in October was revision week. We did lots of work to consolidate the sounds we have learnt so far and tried our best to recognise things that begin with s,a,t and p.
We finished our Halloween arts and crafts on Thursday and were ready for a fun day on Friday 25 October.
This month Paige & Abraham celebrated their 5th birthday.
