We had a very productive October in all subjects. In Numeracy, we were using our knowledge of times tables to help us complete vertical multiplication sums, as shown. We also used this knowledge to help us convert between mixed numbers / improper fractions, as well as simplifying fractions to their lowest term.
In Literacy, we were studying non-fiction reports and spent some time investigating the different features of newspaper reports. After studying the different features, we asked the children to write their own newspaper report, ensuring to include all features discussed.
In World Around Us, we began our local study on Newry Canal. We took a walk downtown to read the different information posts to give us a basis for our research.
