October in Mrs Mc Parland’s Class
In October we learned new sounds and revised those we have learned previously. We have been introduced to high frequency words.
In Numeracy we have now learnt the numbers 1 to 4. We enjoyed making numbers using different resources and laughed a lot when making groups of 4 using children. We learned that the mathematical name for a group of 4 children is a set of 4 children.
We had our first visit to the “Quarry” area. We are getting quicker at finding our wellies and changing. We also took part in chair yoga and musical movement in class.
Adults and children enjoyed a tea part as part of Literacy; “T” sound - The Tiger who came to tea.
For the “P” sound we read Goldilocks and the three bears and made porridge. It was delicious. There were lots of empty bowls.
