Our Special Visitor
We have been doing a lot of work in St Francis' Garden to increase the number of animals finding a home there. We have planted native trees, plants and bulbs and have created a pond. Our work has taken place over the past 3 years and we are increasingly seeing lots of new wildlife settling there. Some creatures have been adventurous and have explored further afield, becoming regular visitors in our playground.
One special visitor is this squirrel, we first spotted him in the forest on St Francis' feast day and he was given the name of 'Francis.' As he has become more comfortable in his home, he has decided to pop round and 'keep an eye' on all that is happening in the P1 & P2 playground. We love to see him each time he pays a visit. We know to be gentle ( which is part of our St Clare's Abbey code) so that we do not frighten him. Aren't we very lucky to have our own school squirrel?
