Peculiar Pets
Sean and his big sister Seainin worked on this poem together, Sean has been entered into the Canterbury tales competition. 2020/21.
By Sean McKintosh
A zebra with spots instead of stripes, Peculiar I say… However, we should not stereotype. An artic wolf who hates the cold, Peculiar I say… Acted out and behaved extra bold. A dog who thinks he is a cat, Peculiar I say… He twists and turns like an acrobat! I saw a tiger who had pink fur, Pculiar I say… He got scared when he saw a bear! A monkey that’s to nervous to climb, Peculiar I say… He stays on the floor all the time. A spider with only two legs, Peculiar I say… She also lays glowing blue eggs! I once saw a legged snake, Who ate some steak, Peculiar I say… This is the story of my encountered strange pets, All while I was eating a baguette!
