During our first couple of months in Primary One the children have been engaging in an array of exciting Play Based Learning.
They have been developing skills within The Creative Classroom, The Forest, The Role-Play Area, The Quarry, Outdoor Construction, The Water and Mud Kitchen.
The children have been provided with opportunities within these areas to develop Personal Capabilities such as joining in and working cooperatively with others, turn-taking, sharing, talking to others about what they are doing and experimenting with ways of expressing how they are feeling through play.
A big focus has been to become more independent in the management and organisation of resources for play including our welly boots, waterproof gear and all of the equipment that is used.
It has been a joy to watch the children so engaged in their play during these early days in Primary One and we invite you to take a look at a little snapshot of the learning which has taken place during Play Based Learning in September and October.
