Play Based Learning P2 Term 1 21/22
During the months of September, October, November and December the Primary Two boys and girls have been engaging in lots of exciting Play Based Learning. They have been developing skills withinThe Arts, focusing on observational drawing, exploring making marks and self-managing paint resources, joining and connecting a variety of 3D objects and also investigating the malleable properties of clay. The children have enjoyed outdoor experiences despite the every changing weather, and have excitedly made discoveries in the Forest, climbed new heights, enjoyed time on the swing and collecting signs of Autumn. In the water, sand and mud kitchen the children were totally immersed in exploring how to mix water with mud/ sand. They enjoyed exploring the variety of containers which can hold water, developing a deeper understanding of capacity / volume. The construction area proved to be another exciting area where the children made representations of buildings in our local area, role played with each other in a wide range of contexts and worked well to self manage resources. A big focus has been to become more independent in the management and organisation of resources for play including our welly boots, waterproof gear and all of the equipment that is used. The children have had wonderful play experiences and we invite you to take a look at a little snapshot of the learning which has taken place during Play Based Learning in Term 1.
