Primary 6 begin their journey to the great outdoors!
Mr Hillen’s P6 class had the first of many wonderful experiences exploring our school forest. They learned the importance of access, use and return as they ‘boutiqued’ the myriad of exciting resources for den building.
They practised the skills of working together, being creative and problem solving. Whilst there were challenges offered, the pupils really set their minds to creating structures, dens and forts!! It might seem to the unobservant eye like ‘child’s play’ but this group of pupils really ‘donned’ their engineering and mathematical hats and gave in to their scientific and artistic creativity! We look forward to planning for our next visit with observational drawings, sketches and mathematical predictions!
