September in Miss Savage’s P1 Class
We have had a busy and enjoyable month in Primary one. Adults and children have gotten to know each other and the children have settled into the class routine.
We have learnt breathing exercises and taken part in exercises to calm and relax our bodies.
Techno, our St Clare’s Abbey E-Safety mascot was introduced to the class.
The children have explored the school forest with great enthusiasm and developed their gross motor skills on the bicycles and in the park.
In Literacy our first sound was ‘s’ and our story was Stone Soup. On Monday 30th September we started our new sound ‘a’.
We have enjoyed lots of number rhymes and have learnt all about number one.
In the Grow In Love programme the children have celebrated their special name and family.
On our ‘Listening Walk’ we heard the wind, birds, the nursery children, a car and a lorry. We learnt that we have to walk on the footpath while in our school grounds and use the zebra crossing.
We ask parents and family members to go through the photographs below with your child as they provide a wonderful opportunity for conversation about the school day in Primary one.
