Supplies for the Refugees Update
On the 22nd of September 2015, Ellie McKevitt, Sophie McEvoy and Sienna McGurgan along with Mrs Doherty, attended a gathering in St Joseph’s boys High School of the schools who donated to the refugee crisis.
There were many other children there representing their schools. There were countless shampoo bottles and packets of baby wipes spelling “WE CARE” and the shape of Ireland marked with a red flag where we reckoned Newry would be.
The photographers took several photographs before we watched a video of the process of gathering all the supplies. We helped to pack some boxes with supplies and had a delicious snack of a bun and orange juice afterwards.
We want to thank all of the participants and pass on our thanks to those who donated.
We had more than 500 toothbrushes, razors, shampoos, baby wipes and much more.
We hope the refugees will find peace and those lives that were lost will be remembered.
