The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi
On Wednesday 4th October, we celebrated the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi. He is the patron saint of the environment, animals, and birds because of the respect he gave to all God's creatures. Our school garden has been named after him.
To celebrate his feast day, many of the classes visited the St. Francis of Assisi garden. We observed the mini-beasts in the pond and under stones and logs, looked the collection of Irish native trees that have been planted and hunted for flowers and berries.
We watched the wildlife camera footage to see what animals visited our garden at night and early in the morning!
