World Book Day 2024 Mrs Mc Parland’s P1 Class
We had a fabulous day celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 7 March, everyone dressed up as a book character and we loved seeing all the costumes.
We took part in a ‘Big Read’. Each class paired with another class and we read together.
Mrs Cribbin’s Primary 4 class came to our classroom to read to the Primary 1 children. The Primary 1 children listened intently to the older children reading, this was a very relaxed and enjoyable experience for both classes.
As part of our World Book Day celebrations the children made wooden spoon book characters at home and showed great excitement and pride when showcasing their spoon characters in class.
After lunch we laughed a lot while watching the masked reader. We were able to figure out most of the teachers who were in the masks.
We love reading in St Clare’s Abbey and World Book Day each year provides a great opportunity to celebrate reading as a whole school.
Thank you to parents and carers who helped with costumes and the amazing wooden spoon characters.
Enjoy looking at the photographs and videos below with you child and encourage him/her to talk to you about their World Book Day experience in school.
A very big thank you to the Primary 4 children, Mrs Cribbin and Mrs Gray.
