Primary 6 Mrs Donnelly December Photographs

Mrs Donnelly's class had an exciting December.  We visited Kilbroney Forest Park to learn about Biodiversity for our World Around Us topic.  We had a fantastic day - there are lots of photos in the gallery relating to it.  We have been learning about Volume in Numeracy and have also been using the Empty Number Line to help with counting on and subtraction.  There has been lots of mathematical language used this month and the P6s are becoming much better at speaking mathematically!  In Literacy we have been writing instructions as well as writing creative pieces relating to Christmas ( a special letter may be on its way to some parents, grandparents or family members).  Of course, we spent some time doing Art relating to Christmas - lovely nativity scenes with chalk are keeping our classroom festive!  We spent a wonderful afternoon in Bagenal's Castle learning about Christmas in the past and doing some Christmas related crafts.  Please see the folder of photographs relating to the trip.  We are looking forward to leading the celebration of Mass to mark the end of the year and to celebrate the Birth of Jesus, remembering the true meaning of Christmas.
