Primary 7 visit Newry library.
Local historian Chris Cassidy spoke to the P7s from Mrs McVeigh's class and P7 from Windsor Hill Primary in our local library.
Chris Researched the life of two leading World War 1 heroes who started life in Cowan Street, Newry. Patrick Frances Curran and William J McAlpine.
The exhibition of the P7 artwork was entitled The Lost Heroes of Cowan Street. A living memory Project. The exhibition reminds us of the sacrifice of these war heroes. Our Mayor Gillian Fitzpatrick came to the library to officially open the exhibition and reminded us about how wonderful our city is and how fabulous our library service is. She encouraged us all to join Newry library. Roan Hand, a local radio presenter was also there and read two famous war poems.
It was a very interesting morning.
The Art work was amazing. Well done to all the p7s involved. The display will be in Newry library for all to see. Please go to have a look 😀
