Science experiment in Miss Duffy's class

We decided to see how ice can melt at room temperature. As it was melting slowly we added salt. This caused a reaction. First there was a bubbly noise and then a hole appeared in the ice. The salt dissolved the ice and formed an opening in the ice block. It took over 3 hours to melt the ice and rescue our prizes.
