Celebration of Musical Talent - Newry Feis 2018

Following a very successful few weeks at Newry Feis, we all came together as a school for a special assembly to celebrate a selection of musical talent in our school. 

• The newly formed Chamber Choir competed in the Hymn Singing competition and a test piece competition. They performed fabulously and were placed Second Place in both competitions. 
• The main school choir competed in a separate competition and came First Place!
• Mr Digney’s class, Mr Byrne’s class and Miss O’Shea’s class joined forces and entered the fireside singing competition. They sang Galway Girl and Everyone is Special and were awarded First Place!
• Our string ensemble competed against nine other local schools and were placed joint third for their rendition of Mellow-D. 
• We had plenty of success with the recorder ensemble group, prepared by Mr Clarke and the P4 recorder group prepared by Miss Friel. 

A huge congratulations to all the children in our school who entered Newry Musical Feis 2018. Everyone represented our school beautifully and were so wonderfully behaved in each outing to the town hall. It is wonderful to see all of the hard work come to fruition and to celebrate with the whole school.
