Celebrating the Sacrament of Baptism

A Mass of Thanksgiving will take place on Sunday 1st October 2017 at 1.00pm in St. Brigid’s Church To mark the ‘Day for Life’ on Sunday 1st October.

The priests of Newry Parish have chosen this day to highlight the significance and importance of the Sacrament of Baptism by concelebrating a Mass of Thanksgiving at 1.00pm in St. Brigid’s Church to raise awareness about the meaning and value of human life at every stage and in every situation.

The parents and families of all the children baptised in Newry parish during the period September 2016 ‒ August 2017, will be invited to bring their children to this special Mass during which those who were baptised will receive another blessing. At the Mass of Thanksgiving everyone will have the opportunity to thank God for the births of these children and to pray for them as they continue their journey of faith in new life with Jesus.

This Mass of Thanksgiving has been established as an annual celebration in the life of the parish.
